Why we "vibrate"

If I were to have to pick a spiritual "genre", I'd have to say "Consciousness."

It seems to me that Consciousness is our only absolute, our only Highest Truth.

Controversial view?

Perhaps. But not if you really think about it. First, the physics:

At any point in an "objective" experience, the ONLY data that one is actually gathering is this: electrical impulses to the mind that are then translated into sights, sounds, tastes, etc, etc.

Your eyes don't see anything. They respond to light frequencies and relay that information as an electrical impulse to the brain that is then synthesized into a cohesive image.

Ears respond to differences between inner/outer pressures, i.e. sound waves, which are nothing more than particles of air striking against the ear drum. At this point, it's sent to the brain as a signal, and then interpreted as sounds, words, music, noise, etc.

Taste is the taste buds relaying signals to the brain.

Touch is nerves relaying signals to the brain.

So, as a skeptic, I have to conclude that we have no actual evidence of there being an "objective" reality in the first place. EVERYTHING is subjective. But, of course, you already know that.

So what is this "vibration" that we all seek to increase, change, modify, codify, calibrate, understand, etc? What is it that makes us vibrate in the first place?

My answer is: Consciousness.

Now, sounds like a pretty "duh" statement.

But let's cover all the other sub-genres of vibrational theory.

1) We vibrate because of atomic vibration.

Okay, sure. The electrons are popping about all around the protons and neutrons. Each "pop" of an electron creates a sort of "ripple", thus creating an overall vibration. But what causes them to do that in the first place? We're still looking at effect, and not cause.

2) It's a spiritual thing.

Fabulous! But why would a spirit vibrate?

3) Our emotions are vibrational patterns.

Absolutely, but why? Again, still effect and not cause.

So why do we vibrate?

Again...

Consciousness itself.

Here goes.

At the basic level of reality, there is is and is-not.

From these two basics, there is is-this, and is-that, along with is-not-this, and is-not-that.

However, through all the myriad of choices, there is still, at the basic level, only is and is-not.

Therefor, our vibration comes from the oscillation of consciousness between these two things.

A lower vibration is Consciousness spending more time away from "reality". A higher vibration is Consciousness spending more time in reality, via faster oscillation.

A study of how vision works will show you that we have a sort of reality shutter-speed.

A higher frequency simply means that you're more engaged with your life. Think about it.

When you're doing something you dislike, the time drags. You're "checking in" as infrequently as possible. You feel like an hour has passed, yet look up at the clock and it's only 15 minutes later.

That's because you haven't really been present the whole time.

Ever been in a "flow" state?

Time slows down, yet speeds up. A moment spent doing something you love passionately can seem like hours, and in a good way. Yet, you glance at the clock and voila, it's hours later, but you only feel like it was but a moment. You were actually present more often.

Just a thought. Enjoy!

just a glimpse of you...

The tears on my cheeks,
each representing days
moments and lifetimes
that never were

The soul-quake happening

shook up from my stance
of strong stoicism
a forced smile to cover pain
uncovered

The soul-quake happening
when I caught just a glimpse of you

I never knew pain
to be so refreshing
to embrace it and know that I am
because of it, in spite of it.

The soul quake happening

Like charging horses they come,
memories and sensories
sweet tastes of a life with you
then with without you

The soul-quake happening
after just a glimpse of you

I stand my ground
teeth bared, feet planted
braced for an impact that never comes
but never leaves.

The soul-quake happening
after just a glimpse of you

But still I stand.

Recording and Monkeys

It seems that recording these days is altogether harder and simpler than ever before.

Harder, because of the myriad of choices, options, etc, and the sheer task of making your sound unique in a world of clones and copycats.

Simpler because, now more than ever, equipment is cheaper, software simpler, and help more readily available than at any other point in our musical history.

I mean, think about it. I could get a Zoom H2, jam out in a quiet room, master it. And boom. I've got an album.

I want a video? Zoom Q3 And that's just the stuff I know about.

I recorded several tracks using an effects pedal, a laptop with a mere 256mgb of RAM, an acoustic amp and a couple of mics. And they sounded pretty good.

But how does one stand out in a sea of monkeys with toys?

THAT is the question.
